Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel complex that contains many amenities aside from the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
