Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which casino gaming is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slots and sixty tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that contains many luxuries aside from the gambling den, which contains ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
