Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, contains 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are one hundred and fifty slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that contains many luxuries aside from the casino, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
