Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den gaming is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling den, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machine games and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that contains numerous comforts aside from the gambling den, which provides ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
